May 14-18 – MADELINE ISLAND: “Pilgrimages – Mindful Travel Writing and Memoir,’’ for the Madeline Island School of the Arts, La Pointe, Wis. This class meets on the peaceful, farm-like MISA campus in the heart of Madeline Island, http://www.madelineartschool.com/

June 4-25 – HAMLINE UNIVERSITY: “Travel Memoir – Sharing the Journey,’’ a travel writing “boot camp’’ covering the history, methods and goals of the genre. MARK TWAIN DISCUSSION GROUP:

April-May – UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA: “Mark Twain as Travel Writer” for LearningLife, College of Continuing Education, University of Minnesota, St. Paul. As with so much else in American writing, Mark Twain was a powerful force in shaping this genre. Group meets April 25, May 9 and May 23.
